American Red Cross Youth Programs are designed to provide youth with meaningful opportunities for education and community service by engaging young people in the programs of the American Red Cross. The Youth Program, with adult support, promotes development of leadership skills, social development and positive self-expression through community service. These teens create friendships through helping others.
American Red Cross Youth Vision Statement
The American Red Cross will provide the premier environment for youth and young adults to learn, practice and exemplify humanitarian values.
Red Cross Clubs
The Northern New Jersey Chapter works with students to establish Red Cross Clubs throughout our region. At high schools and universities, Red Cross Clubs provide a means for students to offer Red Cross-related services and projects to their school populations as well as their local communities.
Youth Council
Members of Red Cross Clubs, student organizations (i.e. Interact Club, National Honor Society) or independent youth volunteers can also join the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey Youth Council. Members of the Council help guide and maintain Red Cross Clubs and services throughout the communities we serve, providing the necessary tools to run a successful volunteer youth program.
Volunteer Youth Opportunities
Youth ages 4-23 can participate in training and educational programs with the American Red Cross. Opportunities are available within many facets of our organization including biomedical, disaster, fundraising, health and safety, and international services.
